Scottish Parliament Celebrates Brilliantly Brave Co-founder's National Recognition

Brilliantly Brave co-founder Jean Pryde's selection for the prestigious f:Entrepreneur #iAlso100 list has received formal recognition in the Scottish Parliament, with a motion celebrating her achievements gaining cross-party support from MSPs across Scotland (https://www.parliament.scot/chamber-and-committees/votes-and-motions/S6M-16228)
The parliamentary motion, lodged by Douglas Ross MSP and supported by representatives from the Borders to the far north, acknowledges Jean's impact as one of the UK's most inspiring female business leaders and her commitment to supporting mental wellbeing in Scottish communities.
"This recognition in the Scottish Parliament feels incredibly humbling," says Jean Pryde. "It shows how our mission to transform well-wishes into wellbeing is resonating not just locally in Moray, but at a national level. This visibility helps amplify our message about the importance of accessible mental health support."
Douglas Ross MSP, who represents the Highlands and Islands, expressed his strong support for Jean's achievements:
"I had no hesitation in lodging a motion at the Scottish Parliament recognising Jean's success which was announced by Small Business Britain earlier this month. Jean's work ethic, determination to succeed and her drive to help and support for others, is outstanding and it is very fitting that she should be named one of the UK's most inspiring Small Business Leaders. Jean has committed herself to helping and supporting others in any way she can and her influence and inspiration makes her a role model for many others within our community. I wish Jean continued success for the outstanding work she does here in Moray."
The parliamentary recognition highlights how Brilliantly Brave's innovative approach to social enterprise is gaining traction at the highest levels. By channelling 100% of profits into mental health initiatives, the business has already:
• Funded numerous free mental health coaching sessions
• Established multiple community support groups
• Delivered Mental Health First Aid training across Scotland
• Created sustainable funding for vital wellbeing services
"Having cross-party and nationwide support for our mission is incredibly encouraging," Jean adds. "It validates our belief that mental wellbeing support should be accessible to all, and shows how purpose-driven business can create meaningful change in communities across Scotland."
The motion's support from MSPs across the political spectrum demonstrates the broad appeal of Brilliantly Brave's innovative "profit for purpose" model, which transforms everyday greeting card purchases into tangible community support.
